The TargetTeach model for school improvement and student achievement includes five critical components applied in a systemic manner for long-lasting change:

Step 1: Identify Instructional Goals
Drawing upon years of experience, ENI works with district leaders to develop a customized action plan that defines and prioritizes instructional goals.

Step 2: Align Curriculum to Standards or Validate Completed District Alignment
ENI’s curriculum experts develop detailed alignments—the most thorough available anywhere—correlating your instructional materials to your standards and your state tests. The result is a comprehensive analysis outlining the specific strengths and weaknesses of your instructional materials for teaching to and meeting your state standards. Step 3: Fill the Gaps with Quality, Targeted Curriculum Materials
Working collaboratively with your implementation team, our curriculum consultants guide your staff through the steps needed to identify appropriate resources to fill the gaps in your core instructional materials. When added to the results of Step 2, this produces detailed instructional resources that ensure all teachers can teach, and all students can learn every standard. Many ENI partner districts also choose to include TargetFundamentals™ and TargetStrategies® to address curriculum gaps.

Step 4: Administer Incremental Testing that Models High-Stakes Test Exams

Step 5: Monitor Student Progress to Make Early Adjustments in a Student's Program
Incremental test data, delivered through ENI's iTargetTeachX® management system, guide re-teaching efforts. This allows teachers to provide timely remedial support. Students and skills don’t slip through the cracks, and, meanwhile students are prepared to take state tests with greater confidence. In addition, iTargetTeachX® reports can disaggregate results by NCLB categories, sort data by demographics, and provide class-, building- or district-wide feedback on student proficiency. To support the five key steps of TargetTeach®, ENI collaborates with your school or district to design the comprehensive staff development and coaching plan needed at all levels to ensure fidelity of implementation and successful student outcomes. ENI offers "at-the-elbow" coaching provided by our own cadre of talented coaches. Or, ENI can train district coaches in the proven ENI coaching methods via our TargetCoach2Coach™ offering. Either approach is complemented by our TargetPLC™ professional learning community to help coaches and teachers sharpen their skills.
