Building site capacity and student achievement

For over 35 years Evans Newton Incorporated (ENI) has partnered with K-12 schools and districts to improve student achievement. ENI shares the priorities of principal leaders, including meeting the demands of NCLB for all subgroups, retaining and developing good teachers, providing effective mentoring/coaching to new teachers, and ensuring that every student in your building receives a high-quality education.

We know that the keys to school improvement and student achievement include:

  • Providing instructional leadership by using best practices to establish and monitor high-quality, standards-based instruction in the classroom.
  • Using assessment data, especially from real-time formative assessments, to drive instruction.
  • Providing targeted professional development and coaching to improve teacher capacity.
  • Making good investment choices for budgets.
  • Strengthening the home-to-school connection by getting parents more involved in their students' learning and educational success.

ENI and building collaboration

ENI partners with district-level, school-level, and community-level leaders to design and implement a customized, research-based program to help students meet state and local standards and testing requirements.

Meet the needs of all stakeholders

The jointly developed plan addresses the needs of all stakeholders involved in a child's education and emphasizes:

  • Improving teacher effectiveness to deliver standards-based instruction.
  • Increasing administrative leadership qualities.
  • Building parent educational capabilities, knowledge, and involvement.
  • Increasing student confidence and knowledge.

Proven model

ENI's proven tools and processes encompass all aspects of an effective instructional process:

  • Our comprehensive approach to school improvement featuring the TargetTeach® process, results in greater student achievement, fewer low performing schools, and more effective educators.
  • Our thorough methods for standards-based curriculum provide educators with clear alignment of curriculum resources, instructional goals, and pacing.
  • Our assessment content and tools monitor the progress of all students with early identification and reporting of student academic needs and continual progress reporting for ongoing program improvements and professional learning.
  • Our professional development and coaching differentiates based on roles, and integrates with educational goals to ensure successful implementation of the project and long-term sustainability of growth.
